try booting Ubuntu on DUT

Expected behavior

it should boot for a bit and go to login screen

it freezes on random dmesg prompts
for example:

fwupd.service

smbd.service

or

geoclue.service

services in general are the most common cause of this (with some exceptions of course, which might suggest that the problem occurs after some fixed time, usually when services are being loaded)

Solutions you've tried

There is one known solution for this problem, booting Ubuntu/Windows while any display cable is plugged in (doesn't matter if it is DP, Usb-c or HDMI and if it's connected to a screen or just a dongle) absolutely eliminates this issue. I believe this outcome is not desirable though..

I recall cases where the login prompt does not spawn on serial console unless a display is connected.

Saw it many times on Debian, also lately on Ubuntu as well. It is not firmware issue, but rather systemd services configuration on the OS side. It is nto realyl stuck, it simply does not spawn serial login prompt and works normally on regular tty output (try SSH to confirm).

Yes, it is possible. The services do not start in the same order. Services are launched in a multithreaded fashion with dependencies, so it often happens that the last line printed will not be always the same
