USB keep resetting

How reproducible

100% reproducible on about 25% of all -TU devices we sell. Mostly on laptops with Ultra 5 CPU.

How to reproduce

1. Install Windows.
2. Install all updates (including optional and store updates) and restart.
3. Make sure there are no more updates available.
4. Open Device Manager and check the USB section.

Expected behavior

No USB errors.
No USB devices that keep refreshing.
No plug/unplug system sound.

Actual behavior

USB errors are common, pop ups show up about every 1 - 5 minutes.
The USB device section in Device Manager keeps refreshing its content.
Plug/unplug system sound every 1- 5 minutes.

Additional context

This issue has never happened so far on the NVIDIA variants.

Several users reported USB instability issues in Linux as well.

Sometimes, Linux installation fails randomly, which we also expect to be a USB related problem.

Solutions you've tried

Disabling the plug/unplug system sound in Windows and block USB notifications, but this is not solving the root of the issue.

first ive checked the issue on laptop in the condition i got it in and then once again after flasing the chip with newest release of dasharo and installing windows with all the system and microsoft store updates. I've used a few devices to test this such as USB Drive, USB keyboard, USB mouse and even tried them again via USB-C Hub but to no avail.

I've tried to check if the problem appears when trying different system power states so i performed a suspend, reboot, warmboot and coldboot both with and without power supply on. Unfortunately the problem is still not apparent.

@wessel-novacustom could you share some more details about the setup where this issue occurs? It could depend on the specific USB devices connected, on power state, power supply, any other devices connected, etc

It happens specifically on the unit that we have sent to you. It's an issue that happens on about 20% of all V540TU and V560TU units, while the NVIDIA variants are not affected.

It happens randomly every 2 - 10 minutes.

It happens with no USB devices connected, the power adapter connected and the battery fully charged, I haven't tried other scenarios.

It happens with the binary that we have received via our shared folder. I'm curious if you flashed the public binary? I haven't tried it so far, I assumed it was the same.
