I have 2x APC Back-UPS XS 1500M. I don't have much an opinion on visualization. My main concern is having a rich API to access all my units as I integrate my units into Home Assistant for wider insight into all my energy usage. RE: Architecture I think option 2 (centralized polling) makes the most sense. Since NUT servers already support remote connections and Nutify already supports connecting to them over the network there doesn't seem to be a need to create a local collector. Just use the existing infrastructure for polling remotely. Using "NUT only" data for collecting preserves compatibility for anyone already running their own NUT server (not Nutify). If a user is only using nutify and wants to migrate to centralized maybe have a new mode for nutify that "only" exposes the raw NUT endpoint (transparently) so that a central instance can collect it. |

I believe that a site (location) switcher should be used for mutil UPS setups. Similar to how Unifi dashboards are. It would also be beneficial to have the location included in notifications. With multiple office locations I would like to know which office switched over to battery and why. I agree with FoxxMD. the polling and data collection is already set up in NUT. Centralized polling just makes sense. |

So the best move would be for Nutify to collect data from the other nut servers scattered around. Advice is welcome |

Looking forward to this! In the meantime, is it possible to run two instances of Nutify on the same host if the In my use case, standard port mapping and monitoring is not that important because I'm not running nut-client on every machine. On a LOWBATT event, I trigger an Ansible playbook to shut down machines in the rack from the Nutify host, then it finally shuts itself down with a local shutdown command. |

I love this; it would be exactly what I'm looking for! Maybe an X column layout to show past events, current state, and current runtime. Then click each one to go under each to view more? |

UI & UX Design
Real-time or Interval Based?
Centralized Polling
I am currently using Home Assistant for visualization and some (limited) notifications, but having a dedicated dashboard would be awesome. |

Not yet. I created three different versions of the code, and I hated all three of them. I need to think it through carefully. |

I think there should be a modular offline standby UPS compatible with NUTify and produced in China. My boss has money and needs 220V AC input and 220V AC output and about 500watt. Maybe anyone can help with BOM, layout, etc. |

This is awesome! I have a mix of UPSs, 1 APC and 3 CyberPower and I'm hoping to add the UniFi 2U soon. Two cyberpowers are connected a PC each, and the PC will run the standard NUT client app to talk to a NUT server (or Nutify?) running on Docker in a Pi. I plan to connect the other two UPSs via USB to that Pi, to handle graceful shutdowns for my NAS and networking hardware in my homelab rack. I was going to add the UniFi UPS to the mix as well, and hope it will integrate with all this somehow. |

I like where this is going, as I have 5 NUT instances around my house. 4 of them are running on Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W units, and one is on my Synology NAS. |

+1, I have 4 UPSs connect to 3 systems, I would love to be able to monitor/view all 4 UPSs. Currently I have apcupsd installed on all three systems and one acting as a nutify-bridge running instantlinux/nut-upsd docker image. Nutify connects to the bridge, but only one UPS is displayed (obviously). Visually it would be nice to see the up status of all devices and then the ability to select the details of a single UPS. Look forward to seeing this implemented. Thanks for the great work. |

I like the UI and features. I do need something to monitor multiple UPS. UI & UX Design Data & Metrics Architecture Ideas Anyway my 2 cents. Thanks for the app. |

Hi Dart - I am an IT Admin and hoping to use Nutify on 20+ sites with 20-40 UPS' mostly Cyberpower and APC brand. I thought the Server / Client configuration already supported multi-UPS monitoring from multiple sites but apparently not. It would be nice to know the status of each site and ups at a glance and then use Microsoft Teams for Alerts. Let me know if you require any additional help. |

π Nutify: Multi-UPS Monitoring β I Need Your Input! π
Hi everyone! π
First of all, thank you for checking out Nutify, a project born from the need to make UPS monitoring simple, clear and accessible. Right now, Nutify is focused on real-time power consumption monitoring using NUT (Network UPS Tools) and turning that into live visuals (yes, including β¬/$ cost estimation β‘πΆ).
But here's the thing...
π§ Community Brainstorming Time!
If you're using multiple UPS systems in your infrastructure, or planning to, Iβd love to hear your thoughts on:
π¨ UI & UX Design
π Data & Metrics
β±οΈ Real-time or Interval-based?
𧩠Architecture Ideas β What Would Work Best?
Right now, I'm toying with two main ideas:
Option 1 β π¦ Local Collector + π Master Container
Option 2 β π Centralized Polling
What would you prefer in your environment?
