[Question]Resource Pack Required?

I am making a DataPack that adds more Advancements to the game, if I were to use this mod to enable custom frames for my custom advancements, would I need to make a resource pack in order to make my frames actually show? I read the Wiki but I could not understand it, sorry.

All I am asking is will I need to make a custom resource pack that goes hand-in-hand with both the mod and DataPack in order to actually show the frames, or can it all be done with a DataPack? And if so what all do I need to do in order to create a custom frame, is there an example DataPack/Resource Pack I can view?

There is an example here on GitHub, yes! You can find it in the examples folder. Make sure to select the branch with your MC version of choice.

Since the advancement rendering is handled on the client, the files are in /assets/, so a resource pack, instead of a data pack.
The demo file uses the frames that Paginated Advancements bundles, like paginatedadvancements:speech_bubble.

If you want to add new frames entirely you will also need to:

• Create a json file to tell the game your frame exists and telling the mod what formatting to use for the text
• Texture used for rendering that frame - unobtained and obtained.

For both you can take a look how Paginated Advancement specifies them (again, check your MC version). The json file under advancement_frame_types, the sprite under textures/gui/sprites/advancements

One More question: Will it also say the custom frame name in chat? Meaning if I were to name the frame Milestone, would it say PlayerName123 Completed the Milestone AdvancementName?

Sadly not.
Chat messages are controlled by the server and since the mod runs fully clientside it has no control over the chat text, sorry!
It does retain the chat message of the original advancement, though, so task, goal or challenge.
