Users have requested the ability to add annotations to the map including drawing polygons and adding labels. These features are not too be plotted and will be used to document areas of interest and points of interest. See mockup of possible annotations below.
Describe the solution you'd like
Add a new drawing layer to the main map component that users can add features to. Also add buttons to the UI to activate these features. It may be best to add one button to draw points/polygons and another to add text labels. It might also be helpful to have a “Done” button that users can click when they’re finished add points to a particular polygon.
