"Auto-hide summarized messages" setting bugged

After enabling auto-summary and auto-hide, the extension on the next prompt send:

generated a summary but not a category for it in one of the lorebooks.
hid all messages from 12-60 (latest)
left messages from 0-11 unhidden
And then generated a message continuing from message 11.

It's possible it is failing due to being applied to an existing chat already longer than the auto-summary limit?

I just tried a bare !summarize

It created several tool entries (the other issues I posted seem to be fixed with a ten second testing, nice work!). But then it created another full message from the character afterwards. I would not expect it to generate any messages other than system messages relating to the tool I requested.

I fixed this by replacing all my !commands with actual /commands.
