503 error on web console when GeoLocation API endpoint unreachable #172
Description
We recently made a change that inadvertently blocked outgoing HTTPS to the geolocation API endpoint, and it prevented the CHN Server's web interface from coming up, leaving us with a 503 error.
Requesting that this aspect gracefully fails, I think the external geolocation service might currently be a single point of failure.
