Include topbar "my groups" quick links

I am using this plugin:
http://community.elgg.org/plugins/1049119/0.3/your-groups-topbar-menu
as a very convenient way for users to access their groups.

But IMHO that would also fit perfectly into this plugin and since the plugin linked above seems to be not maintained anymore it would be great if it would end up in group-tools as an option to enable.
