Description
Key Question:
Does incumbency make a difference to local ward electoral results?
Theory
If the candidate is an incumbent does this make it more or less likely that the same person will be elected? Or is it more or less likely for a party to be re-elected if they are already elected in the area?
Key Data:
-
2014 & 2018 Election results explore here for data sets: https://github.com/CampaignLab/data-pipeline or ask someone who has been before.
-
If you want to test this theory against historic election results - they can be found here: https://www.andrewteale.me.uk/leap/downloads
Task
