"Error executing project" when using "Zoom to Layer Extent"

Another issue that could be my ignorance rather than a bug. When trying to use "Zoom to Layer Extent" from the submenus, we get an "Error executing project" message" - see screenshot, though it's probably not much more informative. Page is same as last issue (http://fwwg.ucdavis.edu/map). I can reproduce by loading that page, turning a layer group on, then clicking the menu for that layer group, and selecting "Zoom to Layer Extent" - maybe I didn't set this up correctly though. I'm not on the VPN so I don't have access to the app still, but....

That call requires a geometry server. If you look at line 75 of the iframe source: view-source:http://pisces.ucdavis.edu/files/data/softwareupdates/html/pisces_web_map.html you will see where the geometry server is set to. It doesn't look like you have touched the default configs and most of these are for the CERES program which no longer exists. Currently the geometry server is set to: http://atlas.resources.ca.gov/arcgis/rest/services/Geometry/GeometryServer. If you don't have a GeometryServer on your instance, you can try: https://tasks.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/Geometry/GeometryServer or I think the state of California hosts one as well.

Awesome - setting it to our geometry server fixes the issue. Still working with George to get the layers to be available beyond our firewall.

Another thing that I'll start by posting here in case it's also ignorance rather than a bug. If I use the identify tool, it works, and I get results, but if I click the download buttons, it opens the map again in a new tab and doesn't download anything. The links are the ones in the following image. Is this expected and a similar type of error? It doesn't seem like that needs a print server, but still just a geometry server. Thanks for your time and sorry to be a pain!

As for the various export formats, that get's more complicated. The short is I built a wrapper service around ogr2ogr to allow the translation of ArcGIS service calls to various formats. To add this functionality you need to start the ExpressJS server located here: https://github.com/CSTARS/gwt-gis/tree/master/node.

npm install
node server &> server.out &
