ESP32 Crashing on 16-bit number #2

Hi. Running the examples ESP8266ReceiveBundle and ESP8266ReceiveMessage, which I have modified to recieve and print u_int_16t values to the serial monitor, I get near constant crashes after a couple of seconds of sending a data stream to it. Has anybody successfully used this with ESP32?
