expose area and percentage of entire city .....somewhere

this might just be done as a special-case district, or, given that i'll be clipping area to city bounds anyway, there might just be an endpoint giving you the exact area of all of it *according to the app* (i've made slightly opinionated but warranted changes to the coastline)
