Giving it a relative path will not help as it will complain:

Well, that’s indeed an issue. I’m not facing it here. What distro do you use? Could you past a full Xorg.8.log somewhere (gist, pastebin…) for both cases?

This is a Debian testing, looks like at this point the Xorg.log is not yet created.

My current solution is to manually set XORG_BINARY in src/bbsecondary.h to the real xorg binary, which is /usr/lib/xorg/Xorg (see 1 Xorg.wrap). Maybe we should have a config option here?

In fedora, I have a patch to change the xorg binary to /usr/libexec/Xorg.wrap

@nxdefiant Oh, that one. We might indeed have issue with rootless X server.

With Ubuntu 16.04, the same error happens. My workaround was to remove executable bit from Xorg.wrap. I would suggest a parameter to set what to execute as X server would fix the problem, then we can set it to /usr/lib/xorg/Xorg if needed.
