WiggleDinks

A Pheromone based RTS, spawn wiggledinks, that act according to pheromones and attack the enemy base

Design

  • 2D, Tilemap based
  • Hand Drawn, On Graph Paper
  • Whimsy

Creatures

  • Two creatures, both collect resources, will reproduce or attack the enemy based on certain conditions
  • Navigates to the nearest marker within a specified radius
  • Die when they run out of pheromones
  • If the tile they are on is below a threshold of friendly pheromone, deposits some of its pheromone periodically

Wiggles

  • 'Melee', Rounded, Flask Shaped creatures that fill themselves with Pheromone and reproduce after a set time period, or expend their pheromone on tiles that are empty, or have enemy pheromone

Dinks

  • 'Dinks', Rounded, Flask Shaped creatures with a nozzle that shoots pheromone over a distance

Emitters

  • 'Flowers', initially neutral, will 'fill' WiggleDinks nearby with their pheromones, or drop them on the ground
  • Can be converted between factions by having another WiggleDink move near it for a period of time

Terrain

Dinks can shoot over canyons but not cliffs
