notes revert when using sync to external folder

I'm having a strange issue where some notes revert back to their previous state after editing them or moving them into a notebook. It seems to be related to the external folder sync feature as I see sync conflict files for these notes in the sync folder. I have been using syncthing to back up this folder to another device, is it possible that is somehow related to this issue? Syncthing was not running at the time.

This seems to be happening when I make some changes to a note then close the app immediately. Sync folder is probably not getting updated before the app is closed, so there is a conflict when I open the app again.
