Interaction with browser extensions

From a cursory glance over the spec, it doesn't appear to mention interaction with existing browser extensions for credential management. Do you know if that has been discussed at all?

I've been working on a pure-JS cross-browser extension which is file-format compatible with the popular 1Password extension. I think the experience could be much better on supported pages if it integrated with browser APIs for credential management.

My understanding is that the management of different implementations of a credentials manager is not part of the spec. There seems to be willingness to add non normative text to say something like: be friendly, don't just think about your solution, allow to be replaced by user installed replacements
There will be text in the spec about extension points for new Credentials too which is another avenue to add one-to-one solutions... YMMW

In Firefox we could do something like https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Creating_a_Login_Manager_storage_module or define an API like Mozilla's PaymentProvider.

No idea where the Chrome implementation of this spec is heading.
