Maintenance and cleanup

In general:

• Added more exception logging
• Simplified large chunks of code
• Added more user-feedback when behavior was unexpected and was previously silent

Minor bugfixes and code cleanup

Mostly debuggging minor issues:

• call not initiated without displaying a reason
• errors while fading elements

Added application verison in error logs
Some code cleanup in the process

Release after some code rewriting

No new features yet, made code more maintainable, added exception logging
