v2.8.0-beta.1: memory system does show defaults, but not the changes from settings

What happened?

2.7.6 showing all correct, but v2.8.0-beta.1 is showing the memory system with default settings, and not using the settings at all.

Steps to reproduce

1. open memory settings, change it there
2. watch memory informations on the main page

Expected behavior

Showing the right memory settings and use them!
