v2.8.0-beta.1: tasks never create fully commits and lost data on merge, as it does not merge #1938

What happened?
I have created a project, where we started from begin. But the code it produces is not comitted in the worktrees. it never creates a commit and more it does not merge if you commit it yourself. it looks like it only stash and apply there.
Steps to reproduce
watch the project within vscode you see not commits on a 42 steps task...
Expected behavior
behavior same as 2.7.6
