Description
As a Brain Knowledge Platform user, I want to see a 2D rendering of a neuron reconstruction, so that I can immediately get a sense for the morphology of the cell.
This task is to create a 2D static image of the reconstruction. It may look similar to this screenshot from the Cell Types database. This is NOT a 3D spinning reconstruction. This is ONLY in the 'xy' dimension. No images are needed for the 'yz' or 'xz' orientations.
The rendered cell must be upright transformed so that the "top" of the cell is directed towards the pia, and the "bottom" towards the white matter.
If possible, the radius information for the nodes should be included so that the image is "filled out" rather than just a wireframe. Will need to review options with stakeholders for sign-off of the final image.
Node types (soma, axon, dendrite, etc) should be individually colored. Additional guidance will be provided by the Web/IDK team regarding image dimensions, background/transparency, and whether a color key should be included with each image.
This will probably be implemented as an additional pipeline step in neuron_morphology.
