Wait a minute, some of that seems to be due to the Reddit browser.

If I go to https://alltheviews.world in Safari on a MacBook (macOS 15 Sequoia). And click the link at the very bottom, I get the same issue.

If I open the page by myself (copy link) or reload that page, it works better.

Does the Referer have some influence here?

@HenkPoley that's really strange. Tried to reproduce this issue following your instructions with safari 18.4 Mac mini (Sequoia 15.4.1) and seems ok.

Initially it looked OK to me, though every so often the map still loads letterboxed. I can even transfer this bug to Safari on Mac using Continuity.

Ah, and after I reload the page on my iPhone I cannot dismiss the initial blurb-dialog.

No, could not reproduce it. Tried with different browsers and devices.
I wonder if it's caused by a browser extension.
