Support multiple power meters connected to same computer

Excellent python library for reading the fs.com optical power meter readings.

I am unfamiliar with the "strategy pattern" or the "asyncio" library.

Is it possible to either:
1) Easily support multiple optical power meters? (e.g. running in different threads)
2) Communicate with a specified COM port/s? (rather than scanning them)

Any hints or examples would be welcome.
