Here is the log after using the $oa --uninstall and reinstalling using $ curl -sL myopenclawhub.com/install | bash && source ~/.bashrc.
Ctrl-F these in the curl log file : "EACCES: Permission denied" and "Directory not empty" to see. May help. Maybe not.

Since Body can not be longer than 65536 characters for issue post, I added the files as txt instead of in here.

The EACCES: Permission denied and Directory not empty errors during reinstall are a known pattern when the uninstall doesn't fully clean up node_modules or other directories before the fresh install runs. The recent commit 04dbe7f (which added oa --install and fixed update bugs) along with 87cf976 (fix update bugs, v1.0.4) addressed several cleanup and reinstall issues. If you're not already on the latest version, pulling the newest install script via the curl command should pick up those fixes. You might also try manually removing the leftover directories (likely under ~/.openclaw or similar) before running the curl install again — that usually clears up the "Directory not empty" conflict, and the permission errors tend to follow from the same stale state.

Hope the reinstall goes smoothly on the second pass — Moto Edge+ on Android 12 should be well within the supported range. 👍

Hi @cbicari — sorry to see this ended in frustration.

Regarding the @snazzah/davey native binding error — that's a separate issue we'd need to investigate. But I want to clarify what happened with the second error, because the action you took actually re-introduced a problem our installer had already solved.

What our installer does

In the Termux + glibc-runner environment, native Node.js addons (.node files) compiled for standard Linux glibc cannot be loaded by Termux's bionic dlopen. This is a known incompatibility.

Our installer specifically handles this for sharp (image processing library used by OpenClaw) by installing a WASM fallback build (@img/sharp-wasm32) instead of the native binary. This is why openclaw works after a normal install — the sharp problem is already solved.

What went wrong

When you ran:

npm i --build-from-source

This deleted all of our pre-configured modules (including the working WASM sharp build) and tried to reinstall everything from scratch with native compilation — which is exactly the broken path our installer avoids. That's why sharp failed to build, and why npm itself broke (the glibc wrapper scripts expect a specific module layout).

TL;DR

• The sharp issue was already solved by our installer via WASM fallback.
• Running rm -rf node_modules && npm i undid that fix and re-introduced the exact problem.
• The @snazzah/davey error is a different issue — if you ever want to try again, a clean install via curl -sL myopenclawhub.com/install | bash would be the right starting point, and we can investigate the davey binding from there.

deleted the full termux -- not too long and somtimes it's easier to jsut start anew rather than turn in circles forever.

got the install seemingly proper now. Copied it here :

will check in later (or get some sleep)
trying to get the node to connect now -- curious to get android API accessible.

After deleting termux, reinstalling termux, following setup instructioncs here, it's working. Alot of authorizations to set and the learning curve is slightly abrupt but that's ok. gotta learn somehow/someday.

I think what may have killed my first install is that, after the openclaw onboard where many skill installations failed, I ran openclaw doctor and then openclaw doctor --fix not thinking that openclaw itself doesnt know we're running in termux.

@AidanPark do you think the openclaw doctor is a dangerous/breaking approach for android/termux ?
