Can you avoid installing unnecessary apps such as termux?

Thanks for the suggestion! A standalone app would definitely be a smoother experience for users.

That said, Termux is a massive project — terminal emulator, package manager, thousands of packages — and forking/embedding it means taking on all that maintenance plus keeping up with upstream security patches, Android version compatibility, APK signing and distribution, etc.

Right now the setup is already optimized to a single command (curl | bash), so the trade-off doesn't quite justify the effort at this point.

It's a good idea though, and something we could revisit down the road if demand grows. Appreciate the input!

But for me, an openclaw app and an openclaw service running on termux is totally different thing. By running in termux, you may get more control of your process and environments.

Good point — running inside Termux actually gives you a lot of flexibility that a standalone app would lose. You get a full Linux-like environment with shell access, the ability to install additional tools, manage processes directly, and customize your setup however you want. That level of control is hard to replicate inside a sandboxed Android app.

Also worth noting, @mithun50's fork is a separate community project and not officially maintained by this repo, so YMMV with compatibility and updates there.
