Codebase testing #161

@emprzy

Description

@emprzy

Our backend (python) is mostly covered, but we don't have a reliable way to test our front-end code (both JavaScript processing and the end-to-end stuff, like visualization and URLs). Before other people start dipping their hands into the code, we need this or I will lose my mind. Also we are at a point where this no longer feels like pre-mature optimization...it's time.

I was reading this guide, and I think it is helpful. Leaving this here for myself because I can't do this right now but I want to implement the tests and have control over them.
