Investigate PCCI Pipeline for Model PRs into `release`

Description
In the last CI planning meeting, @aidanheerdegen mentioned the kind of checks that we want to run on models. Rather than running these incredibly expensive checks on every merge into main, we can do them when main merges into a release branch. PCCI was one of these checks.

Get details regarding what these PCCI checks involve from a technical perspective, before raising an issue to implement it.
