FAQs on IP, what can be shared

Following on discussions in AAGI-AUS/PBS-COP#6

• Include some case studies if different kinds of outputs from various contexts (with AAGI partner, with external third party, service and support or background) and how decision on outputs that are shared.
• Would a flow chart be useful? Is it always so clear cut? 🤷‍♀️
• Emphasise that the database (db) points to a key person to contact so sharing control lies with owner (Unless for open source projects, db will point to the repo where possible)

Hmm I haven't quite address all of these. I don't really have any cases, or being around long enough to know. Would you folks have a spread of examples that might vary in their 'share-ability'? @adamhsparks @Braden-Thorne @rnarmstrong71 @rmegirian @rogerssam

Needing examples to help develop a framework with Jeff

To help move this forward, it would be useful to look at a small set of representative examples of the code you’re considering for release. Ideally, these could span different levels of complexity or risk — for example, a relatively straightforward utility, a more ambiguous case where some novelty exists but is well upstream of commercial value, and an applied tool that might plausibly warrant a more protected pathway.

As you’re identifying those examples, any observations about why certain cases feel more or less suitable for open release would be helpful. Even informal reflections could provide a useful starting point for shaping a checklist over time.
