Upon launching for the first time, 3 text boxes will appear.

1. New installation detected.
   Shortly you will be prompted for elevated privileges, this is required to create symbolic links between the original data and the new modified data. Please ensure that you accept this to avoid any issues.

2. Frosty needs to generate symbolic links, please ensure that you accept this so you don't have to regenerate ModData

3. One or more symbolic links could not be created, please restart tool as Administrator and ensure your storage drive is formatted to NTFS (not exFAT).

I'm getting the same, and also noticing that it's deleting the profile folder inside ModData after pressing Launch.

Does this also happen with the 1.0.6.1 version of Frosty? This would have been the exact version of Frosty that I used to write the guide

Using 1.0.6.1

1. I click "launch"

2. "Launching" window pops up

3. "New installation detected" appears

4. Meanwhile, the "Launching" window gets a progress bar that's filled completely, meaning that the files are generated
   

5. I kill Frosty now directly from Steam

6. Files persist.

It works different than described, but it works.
If it doesn't act like this, in Frosty Mod Manager go to Tools -> Options -> Launch Options, and choose a different platform.

EDIT: I can't confirm that it's everything that should be generated, since I didn't get the game (Mirror's Edge Catalyst) to run when using shim.exe because of a different problem.

The mod files aren't applied properly. This is an issue with Frosty not being able to use symlinks on linux. So even if you get past this it won't work. However, there's a patch on the ME: Andromeda Nexus for frosty 1.0.6.2 exactly that fixes this, but it's mostly meant to be used with cracked games. Haven't been able to get a legitinate copy of Battlefront 2 working even with the patch I think due to either EA app nonsense or executable issues.
