Verify compatibility with browsers

The website works in Chrome (and chromium browsers such as the new Edge), since I am testing it on these platforms, but it would be wise to test it with most other browsers / older browser versions.

Desktop (Windows)

  • The old Edge (version 17 and lower) does not support the Promise.finally clause, so I will need to add a Polyfill for this
• Internet Explorer
  • This is a stretch of a support, since I believe I use alot of code that is not compatible with IE. This would only the cherry on top, I don't expect to ever add support for IE
  • adding compatibility here means showing a message that IE isn't supported

Mobile

Internet Explorer on my work machine simply does not load Fragment JS, which prevents the homepage to have its JS loaded.

Either I look into the support for IE in fragment, either I look at another library to load other files into my HTML (or create my own, which would be much more modern than the 2014 version of fragment js...), or I simply add a notice if the browser is IE that "this website does not work in IE".

Since the issue is that fragment.js doesn't load at all, and that my code lives in the ready function of fragment, I might replace it with https://github.com/github/include-fragment-element , which seems like a much more polished, up-to-date version of a similar concept.

While I really look forward to changing from using fragment.js to https://github.com/github/include-fragment-element , I think I will simply slap the face of IE with a mention about IE being not supported - it will give me way less hassle instead of trying to be perfect.
