How do I change the iChannel source

I'm an absolute n00b at shaders, I just want cool wallpapers. Most of the shaders on ShaderToy have different volumes or images as iChannel0-4, but I didn't find any way to change the channel content in the docs. Is there a different documentation to look at or something?

Hey!

Right now, NeoWall uses built-in noise textures for iChannel0–iChannel4 by default — so you don’t need to set them manually. It is technically possible to use your own textures for those channels, but that part isn’t documented yet since it’s still unstable.

As for ShaderToy shaders — yeah, a lot of the more complex ones don’t work in NeoWall, and not just because of the channels. Many of them rely on multi-pass rendering, which NeoWall doesn’t support yet (and might never, since it’d make things a lot heavier for a wallpaper daemon).

So for now, the best bet is to stick with single-pass shaders that don’t rely on multiple inputs or buffers — those should work just fine.
